ServiceTitan Voice Agent: extending ServiceTitan into 24/7 call handling
ServiceTitan Voice Agent brings AI call handling into the ServiceTitan workflow for eligible customers. Learn how native booking works, which dependencies matter, and when a broader lead-management platform is the better fit.
On this page
The promise is easy to understand: the same platform that holds the customer record, job types, memberships, capacity, and dispatch board can also handle the first conversation. A late-night no-cool call does not have to stop at message-taking. When the request matches the rules and capacity is available, the agent can move the caller from need to booked job while the office is closed.
That native path is the reason to take ServiceTitan Voice Agent seriously. The choice is not simply whether an AI voice sounds natural. It is whether the agent can use the operating context behind the call, take the right action, and leave the next employee with a usable record. ServiceTitan Voice Agent is designed to do that inside ServiceTitan. Its fit therefore depends as much on the account configuration and rollout discipline as on the conversation itself.
What is ServiceTitan Voice Agent?
ServiceTitan Voice Agent is an AI phone agent for inbound call handling within the ServiceTitan environment. It can identify callers from customer records, associate requests with enabled job types, consult Adaptive Capacity, place work on the dispatch board, handle supported changes to existing appointments, and transfer calls that need human attention. It also records outcomes in ServiceTitan through call classifications, transcripts, job tags, and follow-up tags.
Naming varies across ServiceTitan’s product and setup experiences. The product page uses AI Virtual Agent, while setup material also uses AI Voice Agent and Voice Agent (VA). Treat those labels as a reason to make the order form precise: the quote should identify the product, phone route, enabled functions, usage terms, and support scope for the specific account.
Why the native workflow matters
Voice automation creates the most value when it can do more than answer a question. ServiceTitan Voice Agent can work from information already maintained by the operation: customer identity, membership status, job types, business units, service areas, fees, skills, and available capacity. When it books, the result can land directly on the dispatch board. When it cannot book, it can tag the call for follow-up and preserve context for the team.
That continuity can remove several points of friction. A CSR does not need to re-enter a booking captured elsewhere. Dispatch does not need to interpret a bare message from an after-hours answering flow. Managers can review automated and human call activity closer to the operational record. The same configuration that guides the office—such as eligible job types and capacity—also helps govern the agent.
The benefit is strongest in a well-maintained ServiceTitan account. Native access does not compensate for stale capacity, overlapping job types, incorrect fee language, or an escalation number that no one answers. It makes those operating choices more consequential because the agent can act on them at any hour.
Eligibility and platform dependencies
ServiceTitan is a prerequisite, and Voice Agent access is account-specific. The July 25, 2026 AI Concierge release identifies Core, Pro, and Max availability for US and Canadian residential service and replacement businesses. The Basic Phones, Phones Pro, and Contact Center Pro setup paths still include Early Access or account-dependent conditions. ServiceTitan’s public pricing page separately uses the package names Starter, Essentials, and The Works, so package labels alone do not establish entitlement.
Before building a launch plan, have ServiceTitan confirm the following for the exact tenant and call route:
- Account package and Voice Agent activation status
- Supported country, trade, and residential service or replacement use case
- Basic Phones, Phones Pro, Contact Center Pro, or compatible existing-phone setup
- Enabled calling, SMS, booking, cancellation, payment, and outbound functions
- Required ServiceTitan add-ons, including ST Payments or Dispatch Pro where relevant
Keeping an existing phone system may be possible for an eligible ServiceTitan customer, but compatibility and entitlement are separate questions. Payment links require ST Payments and SMS links. Certain after-hours notification flows reference Dispatch Pro. Contact Center Pro provides its own configuration and routing model. Cancellation is off by default in the Basic Phones and Phones Pro FAQ. These are ordinary deployment dependencies, but they should be resolved before the team promises a workflow to callers.
How calls and bookings work
The core inbound journey combines conversation with ServiceTitan actions. The exact path depends on the caller, the request, and the functions enabled for the account.
| Call need | Agent behavior | What makes it work |
|---|---|---|
| New service request | Identifies the customer, matches the need to an enabled job type, checks Adaptive Capacity, and can create a booking. | Current business units, job types, service areas, skills, capacity, fees, and booking permissions. |
| Existing appointment | Can confirm or reschedule an appointment and, when enabled, cancel it. | Supported appointment types, configured scheduling actions, and an explicit cancellation policy. |
| Membership visit | Recognizes an active membership and can book an eligible recurring-service event. | Accurate membership records plus administrator-defined eligibility windows and grace periods. |
| Outstanding invoice | Can verify the caller by caller ID and text a secure payment link. | ST Payments, SMS links, successful verification, and a human path when verification fails. |
| Exception or escalation | Transfers on a live-agent request, negative sentiment, an unsupported need, or a configured trigger. | Maintained destinations, keywords, business-hour rules, fallback routing, and an accountable recipient. |
| Spanish-language call | Can switch between English and Spanish while logging and classifying the interaction. | A tested bilingual script and a confirmed route for language needs beyond English and Spanish. |
Consider an after-hours no-cool call. The agent can recognize an existing customer, match the issue to an HVAC repair job type, state the configured dispatch fee, check capacity, book the visit, and attach the appropriate job tag. A member calling about recurring maintenance can be matched to an eligible recurring-service event rather than treated as an unrelated new lead.
Not every call should end in an automated booking. A gas-smell report, billing dispute, unsupported job, failed identity check, frustrated caller, or direct request for a person should follow a deliberate escalation path. If capacity is unavailable, the unbooked-call tag and email summary are useful only when a named employee or queue has a response target. Contact Center Pro can also branch calls with plain-language workflow instructions and route specialized needs to different destinations.
ServiceTitan lists custom messages, knowledge uploads, multiple agents, transcripts, SMS, and outbound lead response alongside the core call functions. Availability can differ by account, so any of those functions that matter to the purchase should appear in the live account demonstration and order details.
Configuration and rollout
Voice Agent should be configured as an operating workflow, not only as a script. Administrators control the persona, knowledge files, greetings and custom messages, scheduling actions, supported job types, fees, escalation logic, and inbound SMS behavior. Multiple agents can support different brands, locations, or service lines. Contact Center Pro can apply global settings while allowing tenant-level overrides.
Start by deciding what the agent is allowed to complete. A narrow first release might answer overflow and after-hours calls, book a limited set of high-volume job types, and transfer everything else. Expand only after the team has verified the booking and routing results. A practical rollout sequence is:
- Audit customer-facing data and rules, including job types, business units, service areas, memberships, fees, capacity, skills, recurring-event windows, and escalation destinations.
- Configure the agent’s scope, knowledge, messages, allowed scheduling actions, transfer triggers, fallback destinations, and follow-up tags.
- Run controlled calls across new customers, members, reschedules, cancellations, payments, emergencies, Spanish, no-capacity conditions, and calls that should transfer.
- Route a limited share of real traffic or a contained after-hours window, review every outcome, and correct configuration gaps quickly.
- Expand hours, locations, job types, or functions only when booking accuracy, transfer completion, and follow-up ownership meet the operating target.
The human workflow matters just as much as the agent configuration. Assign an owner for knowledge and rule changes, an owner for unbooked-call follow-up, and a reviewer for false bookings, failed transfers, and transcript quality. Maintain a staffed fallback and rollback path for outages, routing errors, seasonal peaks, and safety-sensitive exceptions.
Data and service terms belong in the rollout as well. The current Voice Agent pages do not provide a product-specific retention schedule, model-training policy, uptime commitment, or full security architecture, and they do not name the underlying speech, telephony, or foundation-model providers. The contract should address call audio, transcripts, uploaded knowledge, AI processing, access, deletion, incidents, availability, disclosure, consent, and recording requirements.
Pricing and ownership
ServiceTitan does not list public Voice Agent rates, included usage, overages, minimums, or phone-path price differences. The onboarding flow includes an in-product checkout and states that billing starts when the agent is used, including test calls. That makes testing a budget item, even though it remains essential to a responsible rollout.
Request a complete quote that separates the ServiceTitan platform, Voice Agent, required phone product, SMS, ST Payments, Dispatch Pro or Contact Center Pro dependencies, implementation, usage, support, and any minimum commitment. Ask how test calls, transfers, abandoned calls, outbound interactions, and Spanish calls are metered. Clarify whether usage is measured by call, connected minute, total minute, completed action, or another unit, and how taxes or telecom charges appear.
Operational ownership should be equally explicit. ServiceTitan can provide a native path for data and actions, but the home-services business still owns capacity, job setup, fee language, knowledge accuracy, escalation staffing, follow-up, compliance decisions, and performance review. ServiceTitan should own the activation process, product support boundaries, incident route, and any account-level configuration it controls. Write those responsibilities into the launch plan so a missed booking does not become an ownership debate.
Proof and validation
ServiceTitan’s pilots and customer testimonials can show that the workflow is viable, but they do not predict results for a particular call mix. ServiceTitan does not publish product-wide benchmarks for booking accuracy, latency, containment, transfer success, or multilingual performance. The decisive proof is a pilot using the operation’s real rules, common requests, edge cases, accents, noise conditions, hours, and capacity patterns.
- Require written confirmation of the exact package, phone path, geography, trade, rollout status, and enabled Voice Agent functions.
- Run production-like calls for new and existing customers, members, reschedules, cancellations, payments, Spanish, emergencies, spam, upset callers, and no-capacity conditions.
- Score customer recognition, job-type selection, fee accuracy, booking accuracy, transfer completion, latency, transcript quality, tags, and dispatch-board writes.
- Verify that unbooked calls reach the correct queue and receive a response within the promised time.
- Test caller-ID verification failures, closed transfer destinations, bad capacity data, conflicting job types, outages, and the rollback procedure.
- Compare the invoice with the quote during the pilot, including charges for tests, transfers, abandoned calls, SMS, and supporting products.
- Have counsel review AI disclosure, consent, recording, retention, model use, data access, security, incident, and deletion terms.
- Set launch thresholds and a recurring review cadence for booking quality, missed opportunities, escalations, caller experience, and configuration changes.
The most useful demonstration follows a call all the way through the business. Watch what the caller hears, what the agent reads, what lands in the customer and job records, where the booking appears, how dispatch sees it, what happens when the path fails, and how a manager finds the interaction later. That exposes the practical value of the native workflow as well as the limits that need a human process.
Where Broccoli fits relative to ServiceTitan Voice Agent
Broccoli is an all-in-one lead-management platform built for home services and the trades.
It brings inbound and outbound voice and SMS, website chat, speed-to-lead, lead qualification, booking and dispatch, ongoing follow-up, QA and coaching, and multi-location reporting into one revenue workflow. That makes Broccoli a strong choice when the goal reaches beyond automating inbound ServiceTitan calls and extends to winning, booking, recovering, and learning from leads across channels.
The practical difference is scope. ServiceTitan Voice Agent is the natural extension when the priority is to use native ServiceTitan customer, membership, capacity, scheduling, and dispatch context with the fewest handoffs between the call and the system of record. Broccoli is the clear choice when a home-services operator wants one purpose-built workflow to respond to web and marketplace leads quickly, carry conversations across phone, text, and chat, run outbound estimate or membership follow-up, book and escalate work, coach CSRs, and compare performance across locations. It can organize the full lead lifecycle while ServiceTitan remains connected to the operational record.
Put the two approaches through the same production scenarios. Ask Broccoli to show the first speed-to-lead response, qualification logic, Adaptive Capacity booking, on-call dispatch, failed-booking recovery, outbound follow-up, QA scorecard, coaching workflow, and location rollup. Then compare that end-to-end revenue path with the simplicity and first-party context of extending ServiceTitan. See the focused

Bottom line
Choose ServiceTitan Voice Agent when ServiceTitan already governs the customer and dispatch workflow, the account is eligible, and the main objective is native 24/7 inbound handling with direct access to customer, membership, capacity, job, and routing context. Its advantage is continuity: the call can become a ServiceTitan booking or a clearly tagged follow-up without unnecessary re-entry between systems.
Choose Broccoli when the larger problem is lead conversion across the home-services front office—not just answering inbound calls. Its cross-channel workflow is designed to connect speed-to-lead, inbound and outbound voice and SMS, website chat, qualification, booking and dispatch, follow-up, QA and coaching, and multi-location reporting. If that is the revenue operation you want to build, book a Broccoli demo and test it against the same ServiceTitan rules and edge cases you would use for Voice Agent.
